Your SRD status tells you whether SASSA approved, declined or is still checking your application for each month. These are the five official ways to check it.
1. The official SRD website
Go to srd.sassa.gov.za, choose “Application Status”, and enter your ID number and cellphone number. You will see the outcome for every month.
2. WhatsApp
Save 082 046 8553 in your phone, send “SASSA” on WhatsApp and follow the menu.
3. USSD
Dial *134*7737# and follow the prompts. This works on any phone and does not need data.
4. The SASSA call centre
Call 0800 60 10 11 for free, Monday to Friday during office hours.
5. A SASSA office
Take your ID to your nearest SASSA office if you cannot use the other options.
