The NYDA Grant Programme helps young South Africans start or grow their own business. Grants range from R1,000 to R200,000 and are mostly paid as equipment, tools or stock rather than cash.
Who qualifies
- Aged 18 to 35
- South African citizen with a valid ID
- The business is 100% owned by young people
- The business operates in South Africa
- You are actively running the business
Who does not qualify
- Businesses with owners older than 35
- Applicants who are not involved in running the business
Documents you need
- Certified copy of your ID
- Business registration documents, if registered
- A simple business plan
- Quotes for the equipment or stock you need
How to apply
- Register on the NYDA website or visit a branch.
- Complete the grant application and attach your documents.
- NYDA may visit your business and ask you to attend business training.
- If approved, the NYDA buys the items in your application.
